Is Morgellons psychological?

Morgellons disease is when people believe they have a foreign animal (or some believe alien) living in their body that leaves wounds on their skin and can only be seen by them. Is this disease psychological?

To the people who have morgellons, it is very real. It is hard to say if there is a psychological component, but research has shown that there is a level of stress and ill mental health that often accompanies these reports. However, perhaps morgellons diseases is real AND affects the psyche, as in perhaps they did not have delusions until they were invaded by an infectious pest. There is still much research needed before ruling if morgellons is in the body or in the mind.
