Hot pepper membranes

I once bit into a hot pepper from a friend's garden and felt the burning sensation on my lip and tongue all the way until the next morning. Handle peppers with care!

Last month I mad stuffed peppers for the first time with pablano peppers. They were delicious. It wasn't until after gutting the peppers that I realized I should have been wearing gloves. My hands were on fire! I soaked them in some milk and water until the stinging came down. I won't make that mistake again :)
