Comfrey is extracted from the leaves and roots of a perennial herb of the borage family that grows in temperate regions such as North America, western Asia, and Australia. Comfrey is available as a tea, a blended plant extract, and a cream. Oil from the leaves and root may be incorporated in ointments or used as a compress.
