Breast Cancer

Study links breast cancer to iron, aluminum

Dr. Russell L. Blaylock, CCN, says that new research indicates breast cancer may be linked to high levels of both iron and aluminum in women’s bodies. The studies were done by withdrawing fluid from the nipples of women with breast cancer because the fluid gives researchers a good picture of conditions within the breast ductal tissue. While iron is a necessary nutrient for human health, aluminum is not.

Most iron in the foods we eat, Dr. Blaylock explained, is bound to protective proteins that allow the iron to do its work without inflaming surrounding tissue. Unbound or “free” iron can be highly irritating. A few factors can make iron unbind from its protective protein; one is excessive (more than 20 grams per day) alcohol consumption. Another is high estrogen levels. Because body fat can increase estrogen production, this might explain the link between obesity and breast cancer.

But free iron becomes more dangerous in the presence of aluminum. Aluminum is present in the environment as an industrial pollutant; in fluoridated water (fluoride in the water actually IS an industrial pollutant, although aluminum manufacturing giant Alcoa convinced the FDA that it was good for our teeth); in underarm anti-perspirants; in aluminum cookware; and in vaccines. Blaylock says vaccines for hepatitis and tetanus contain high concentrations of aluminum that can remain in the body for many years. The amount of aluminum in the vaccines given to a six-month-old baby are FIFTY TIMES higher than the FDA upper limit.

What can you do to reduce your risk of breast cancer? According to what is known today:

1.       Don’t drink excess alcohol.

2.       Maintain a reasonable body weight.

3.       Filter your water.

4.       Use aluminum-free anti-perspirants.

5.       Cook food in glass or stainless steel

Think twice before getting hepatitis or tetanus vaccines as an adult, and seriously weigh the risk of vaccines for children against the risk of the diseases they prevent. Parents and health care providers have to make this decision together.
