Ascorbic acid, also known as Vitamin C, is a water-soluble vitamin found in fresh fruits (especially citrus) and berries, green vegetables, onions, tomatoes, radishes, and rose hips. It is most effective when taken with other vitamins and minerals, calcium, and magnesium. Ascorbic acid is vital in the formation of collagen, the connective substance in all cells.
