Aquatic therapy is physical rehabilitation that is done in a heated pool of water. The water supports the body during aquatic therapy and reduces stress to joints, so one can strengthen and tone the muscles while a specific injury heals.  Exercise instruction is given by licensed physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, and athletic trainers who are trained in aquatic therapy.
