Holistic Animal Health and My Cat
My boyfriend believes in running energy. He can meditate for a while and then lay his hands one someone, sometimes with some amazing results. He often runs energy to me when I feel sick of have a head ache. His hands get very hot and I almost always feel better afterwards. When our 15 year old cat stopped eating for 5 days, we assumed the end was near for him. Every day, My boyfriend ran energy to him, sometimes several times a day. With a heavy heart, I decided that it was time to take him to the vet for his final visit. On the 5th day, he ate a pepperoni and started drinking water again! I will never know for sure why he stopped eating, or why he started again, but I believe my boyfriend's holistic approach to his care has kept our cat alive, who is now 16 and counting!

RE: Holistic Animal Health and My Cat
I had a horse who had a bad sinus infection for a while. The antibiotics didn't seem to be having an affect. I had an vet who specializes in acupuncture come to my farm. Rose, my horse, was actually very receptive to the treatment, and within about 4 days, she was feeling much better.

I saw a dog special about a dog that was misbehaving, chewing things and forgetting his potty training. It turned out that he was jealous that the other dog in the house got to wear a bandanna! They got him a bandanna and he stopped acting out. Go figure. Sometimes animals need a holistic view for their health treatments just like people do.

I'm glad to hear about your cat! Animals definitely need to be viewed from a holistic health perspective. I have a chihuahua named Bugs that I got from a humane society about 3 years ago. He used to get really freaked out by my one friend for no reason. I took Bugs to a pet psychic. She told me that Bugs was previously abused by a man who looked very similar to my friend. We worked on having my friend walk Bugs and give him treats, and now Bugs is no longer afraid of him.
