?
Acute bacterial prostatitis is an inflammation of the prostate gland, one of the male sexual reproductive organs. While more than 90 percent of cases of prostatitis are not caused by bacteria (these are called chronic non-bacterial prostatitis), the 10 percent of cases that are caused by infection can be potentially life-threatening. Anyone with symptoms of pelvic pain, painful urination, painful ejaculation, and other symptoms of infection -- including fever -- should be evaluated by a trained medical professional to rule out bacterial prostate infection.SEE: PROSTATITIS, PROSTATE PROBLEMS ... MORE
